This was indeed a well deserved break. Stayed at
the Marina Royal Palace Hotel in Duni, Bulgaria. It was absolutely stunning. It
was a five star, all inclusive hotel, about an hour away from Burgas Airport
and we were there for exactly 7 nights. Enjoyed 5 days of amazing weather (it
rained the last two days but at least we had a beautiful firework display the
last night, which made up for it), sunbathing and relaxing by the pool and a
few dips in the black sea.
Went on a safari adventure, which was the
highlight of the entire trip. We were dropped off in a the mountains somewhere and
went on a 30 minutes hike across beautiful rivers, surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest. We
later crawled under a few rocks into a cave and even for claustrophobic person
like myself, I really enjoyed it.
We spent the afternoon in a little village in Sofia. Had a delicious Bulgarian meal and were then entertained with some
beautiful traditional Bulgarian music. We ended the night with a walk to Boyana Waterfall. I do not know what it is about waterfalls but I'm always drawn to
it. For someone who can barely swim and just about paddle her way through a
kiddie pool, I still love water. Don't get me wrong, I'm scared of it when you
drop me in it but I love it nonetheless and waterfalls for me is the icing on
the cake. There's just something about waterfalls that makes you realise how
amazingly beautiful Mother Nature is.
If you've been to Turkey then Bulgaria won't be
any different in terms of tourism. It's pretty similar. The food, the hotels, the activities are
pretty much the same. The only difference is that Turkey is a lot more popular
and busier in May than Bulgaria is. There were hardly any activities to do at
the resort in Bulgaria because nothing was opened. I loved the parasailing I
did in Turkey last summer and was hoping to do something similar in Bulgaria,
but sadly didn't get the chance to which was a shame. If you're looking to go, best bet would be
to go during the Peak seasons - June, July maybe even August.
Oh and one last thing before I end this.
Internet. Okay so they have free Wi-Fi in the Lobby and Reception but if you
want internet at the beach or by the pool or in your hotel room, you'll have to
pay for it. But trust me when I say it's totally worth it. It's the best and
fastest internet I've ever used at any hotel. F*@$k, it might even be a lot
better than what I've got in my house.
All in all I enjoyed the entire holiday. Now
that I'm back, I'm itching to go away again. If only I had the time and money
to just travel all year round. Anyway, I hope you like the photos and be sure
to check out my other post on the blog. I've got a new makeup look all the wayfrom Bulgaria as well as an educative post to help you prep your way to a perfect makeup look.
I hope you all have a great summer. Fill me in
on what you get up to and as always, I love you for stopping by.....
